This was a project for my Advanced Graphic Design class. We were tasked to create a book cover design for an Oscar nominated film we had watched. I chose to make mine based on the movie "Mank." I wanted my cover to have a film noir aesthetic similar to the movie itself and took a lot of reference from vintage movie title screens. Having the silhouetted figure tied to the burning cigarette was a reference to a specific scene in the movie as well as a representation of certain characters being tied to their own fates.
